BOARD & STAFF

Stephen (Steve) Bassford, Treasurer

 
     
  Treasurer, Mr. Bassford has always been actively engaged in community activities throughout Maryland. Before his appointment to the Board at Poplar Hill, he  served as Board Chairman at the London Towne Publik House in Edgewater, Maryland. Mr. Bassford holds undergraduate and graduate degrees and currently operates his own transportation consulting firm.  
     
Aleta Davis, Chair and Dean Davis

Ms. Davis, a classically trained mezzo-soprano vocalist is a resident, along with her husband Dean, in the Newtown Historic District.  Her background includes a degree in 2-D Art from Salisbury University.  Among her varied interests is her knowledge and love of architecture, art, antiques and history.
 
Mr. Davis comes to the Board with decades of experience in construction and business managementHe, along with his wife Aleta, previously owned All Manor of Things, an antique shop located in Salisbury.  Some of you remember him also as a local coach.
 
 

 

Anne Lampert, Vice-Chair and Corresponding Secretary
 
  Vice-Chair and Corresponding Secretary, Ms. Lampert is currently a registered nurse working with Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Among her other duties, she is responsible for the newly developed docent training program.  She recently enjoyed planning her son and daughter-in-law's wedding and reception at Poplar Hill Mansion.  Ms. Lampert lives in Hebron.  
 
 
     

 Anita (Tutie) Foskey

 
 
  Ms. Foskey, a long time Salisbury resident, comes to Poplar Hill Mansion's board after her retirement as a seamstress for Phillip's Clothing Store.  She actively serves on the Hospitality and Garden Committees.  Ms. Foskey has also been trained as a docent.  
 
 
     
 

Louise Nock

 
 
Ms Nock, chair of the Mansion’s Hospitality Committee, is instrumental in planning,
managing, and hosting the various public events sponsored the Friends of Poplar
Hill Mansion. Mrs. Nock considers Poplar Hill a true asset for the local community and looks forward to new and exciting events to be held at the Mansion in near future

Chris Russo

 
  Mr. Russo is a partner in the law firm Otway and Russo located in Salisbury.  He and his wife, Leslie, volunteer with local non profits.  He serves as parliamentarian on the Board.  
 
 
     
 
 

Rita Tiso

   
Mrs. Tiso was born and raised in the Azores, Portugal. She moved to Bermuda in 1964 and then to Toronto, Canada in 1969-finally settling in Salisbury in 1975. Her interest in historic preservation stems, in part, from growing up in a 120 year old home which still remains in her family today. Mrs. Tiso serves on several committees including the Mansion’s membership committee of which she is Chair.  She is also the Mansion's "Official Photographer".

Nancy Marasco, Curator

 
 

  Ms. Marasco came to Poplar Hill Mansion as Curator in July, 2007 from Colorado.  She holds degrees in both Business and Fire Science, bringing with her a strong and successful background in fundraising for nonprofits. Her love for history began at an early age while living in historic homes her parents enjoyed restoring, not renovating.  At age 16, her first job was at the John Jay House in Katonah, New York where she was a docent.  She has three daughters and four grandchildren.
